Nicki Minaj is not afraid to be different

Nicki Minaj admits she's "always been kooky" even from an early age.
Recalling her younger years, the pink-haired rapper says she used to annoy her brother and his friends by performing for them.
"When I was little, my brothers’ friends would come over, and I wanted attention," explains Nicki, 26.
"I would sing, do weird dances and faces, and they wouldn’t find it funny. But I found myself very funny. The only person who entertained me was my mother."
Minaj, who just filmed a new video with Rihanna, also says she's not ashamed to be different anymore. "I thought it was something I should be ashamed of," Nicki told XXL Mag. "I’ve always been a little bit kooky.

"Now I realize I don’t have to be ashamed of being a little... peculiar or humorous."
