DeAngelo Hall backs Mike Shanahan, Redskins coaches
While the Washington Redskins' season dissolves around Mike Shanahan, at least one player stands firmly behind his coaches.
"I absolutely would endorse these guys," cornerback DeAngelo Hall said, per The Washington Post. "I think a big part of success is to have some stability. I think anybody who has had success in this league would tell you that."
Of course, what is the veteran going to say?n
Hall said he returned to the Redskins after being cut last season partly because of the Shanahans. The 30-year-old believes the coaching staff has the full support of the locker room, despite reports of discontent.
Robert Griffin III's relationship with Shanahan specifically has been called in to question. Losing seems to have strained that relationship, and it's believed that, if the season continues to devolve, Redskins owner Dan Snyder will side with Griffin over Shanahan.
One thing Hall knows for sure is -- like every year -- there will be changes in the offseason.n
"It's five games left," he said. "It has to be a mindset. You can take it one of two ways: 'Five games left, let's hurry up and get this over.' Or, 'Five games left to go out there and show people what you got.' ...
"I tell these guys all the time, 'This group is gonna never be the same.' No matter how many guys stay from this year to next year, it won't be the same. And you've got to cherish the opportunity to play with the guys in this locker room because, like I said, it won't ever be the same group of guys out here playing together."
The question is will the same coach be leading the new group of players?n
